Terms

Last updated 30 October 2026

These terms are between you and Hither App when you use Hither to make a website for an event, invite guests and collect replies. Guests replying to an invitation don’t need an account, and only the parts about acceptable use apply to them.

Your account

You need to be 18 or over to create an account. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You’re responsible for what happens in it, including what collaborators you invite do.

Your content and your guests

You own what you add: words, photos, guest lists. You give us permission to host and display it so your site and messages work. Only add people you have a genuine reason to invite, only upload photos you have the right to use, and only message guests about your event. You’re responsible for your guests’ data as its controller; we look after it on your behalf as described in our privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Hither to send spam, collect data for anything other than your event, upload anything unlawful, hateful or infringing, or try to break, probe or overload the service. We may pause or remove sites that do, and we’ll tell you why unless the law stops us.

Plans and payment

The free plan has no time limit. Plus is a one-off payment for a single event; it isn’t a subscription and doesn’t renew. Prices include VAT where it applies. If Plus doesn’t work for you, email us within 14 days of paying and we’ll refund you in full. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Hither running and your sites online, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features; if we ever need to stop offering something you’ve paid for, we’ll give you notice and a way to export your data. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email account holders first.

Ending things

You can delete an event or your account at any time. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, we’re not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you’ve paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
