Hither only sets cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work, so we don’t ask for consent and there’s no banner. We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t let anyone else set them on our pages or on guest sites.

Counting visits
We count how often pages are opened without cookies and without storing anything on your device. Each open tab gets a random code that lives only in that tab’s memory and is gone when you close it. No analytics companies are involved. The privacy page explains exactly what’s kept.
One exception, for our own team: a browser where someone at Hither has switched on “Don’t count this browser” keeps a small note in its local storage (hither-dont-count) so their visits aren’t counted. It’s never set for anyone else.
Guest sites load typefaces from Google Fonts and photos from image hosts such as Unsplash and Pexels. Those requests don’t set cookies, but they do share your IP address with those providers, as any web page loading their files does.
